The Boscolo Party 1st Edition: Lyon Celebrates the Festa della Repubblica

On 2 June, Hôtel Boscolo Lyon hosted the first edition of an event that will long be remembered: the Boscolo Party, a prestigious evening organised to mark the Italian Festa della Repubblica. More than a national celebration, this inaugural evening established itself as a genuine cultural bridge between France and Italy: two nations bound together by so much, from the table to the art of living, from a shared sense of beauty to a shared sense of hospitality.

The Festa della Repubblica in Lyon: A Founding Event Rooted in Italian History

The Festa della Repubblica commemorates 2 June 1946, the day Italians chose the Republic by referendum. It is a celebration of freedom, identity and national pride. Marking this occasion in Lyon, a crossroads city, a gastronomic capital, a city with a long tradition of Franco-Italian exchange, carried particular significance. The Boscolo Party sought to honour this date with the elegance and warmth that define the house: formal in its shape, sincerely convivial in its spirit.

A Gala Evening: discovering the hotel in a new light on 2 June

For this first edition, the hotel opened its doors to a carefully composed circle of guests: local and national press, Lyon-based influencers, business leaders, representatives of the Italian and French communities, hotel partners and travel agencies. People who make Lyon what it is, and whom we wanted to welcome into our world for the first time.

The evening unfolded around a refined cocktail dinner, where several signature dishes from our menu were presented in miniature for the occasion, a way of inviting guests on a flavour journey through the tastes of southern Italy. Long conversations, carefully curated tastings, Italian wines, traditional desserts: the atmosphere was that of a beautiful Italian home receiving its guests with warmth and without ostentation.

For many guests, it was their first visit to Boscolo Lyon. We took them to discover two rooms an Elegance and a Junior Suite on the second floor with views over the Rhône, that view you would never suspect from the street and that you never forget once you have seen it. The spa was also open for visits. The feedback was unanimous: the hotel surprised, seduced, and left everyone wanting to come back

Lyon established itself naturally as the setting for this celebration. A world gastronomic capital, a city whose history is deeply intertwined with Italy, from the silk weavers of the Croix-Rousse to the architectural influences of the Renaissance, Lyon embodies better than any other French city the harmony possible between these two cultures. This first edition lays the foundations for an annual tradition.
